WEBB Celebrates 5 Years

WEBB is thrilled to be celebrating our fifth year empowering women in business. Since our inception in 2006, we have moved at full speed to accomplish many goals and grow as an organization. We are excited and honored to share some of them with you.

In May 2006, we launched WEBB at the TES Conference in Palm Springs. Here, we raised more than $10,000 to give to FINCA to help fund women entrepreneurs in the poorest nations around the world. Our Mastermind groups were organized and started in June of 2006. We held monthly VISTA presentations in June, July, August, September, and October on topics chosen by our members, and invited guests to these VISTA sessions, including women in our communities interested in franchising, women clients, and women validating both BAI and TES.

May 2007 brought the expansion of our Mastermind groups, and we were able to track the success created by the women in these groups. We continued our monthly VISTA sessions and included speakers who presented topics that would help women take their businesses to the next level. These sessions included Brian Klemmer, Marketing Your Business with Deb Polydys, PR and Your Business with Irene Makiaris, and How to Seize Opportunities in Our Communities; Ways to be Empowered in Our Businesses. We increased our visibility on a national level with resources such as press releases, articles, and word of mouth. We proudly contributed to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure organization. Last, but certainly not least, we launched our Women Empowered By Business official website.

In 2008, we added the educational feature of monthly WEBBinars for woman. We also invested time to work on two new initiatives. The first was the creation of our own charity to support women entrepreneurs, and the second is a mentoring program for our new women entrepreneurs. We also had a world class speaker for our WEBB event in September, Lisa Earle McLeod, author of Forget Perfect.

We entered 2009 full steam ahead, and began a mentoring program for new coaches at the Annual Conference. The creation of the SpiderWEBB, a team of three-day Walkers for the Cure, was a huge accomplishment, and we raised eighteen thousand dollars for breast cancer research and awareness.

In 2010, we continued our monthly WEBBinars and became associated with NFTE (National Foundation for Training Entrepreneurs). In our three-day Susan G. Komen Walk for the Cure, we outdid ourselves and raised an impressive $23,000 dollars!

It has been an amazing journey thus far, and we are proud of our achievements. We believe 2011 will be our finest year yet, and we look forward to sharing it with you. Join us as we continue this journey, and let's look forward together to all the wonderful things the future has in store!
